Watercolour Botanicals Workshop

My last workshop with Craft School YXE! After 5 years, Craft School is closing its doors, so I hope that I can help them to go out with a bang.

Learn the tips and tricks of watercolour, inspired by the beauty of plants. Participants will learn how to prepare a watercolour piece for painting, how to set up the design, mix paints and assess their hues, and apply colour. You will take home two painted cards, made by you. You’ll also take home a set of watercolour paints to continue practicing your skills. All supplies provided!

All of the marketers’ work is skillfully created and finished, and will stand the test of time. No ready-made kits or assembly-line pieces here— only original, personal, authentic and locally handmade fine craft! The market will feature unique functional and decorative gifts of every kind: clay, sculpture, wood, glass, paper, jewellery, photography, furniture and so much more!

 The market takes place Friday, October 13, 1-8pm and Saturday, October 14, 10am-6pm.
Admission: $10, children 12 years and under are free.

Featured artists’ work is skillfully constructed and finished. No ready-made kits or assembly-line pieces here! WinterGreen features only authentic, local Fine Craft. The SCC has set a standard of superior quality that is recognized across the country. Purchasers at WinterGreen will walk away with truly original, handmade artwork.

The market will feature over 70 artists selling gifts of every description, including traditional and contemporary works in clay, photography, furniture, sculpture, fibre, wood, jewellery, and glass. There will also be delicious Saskatchewan-made food products available for purchase.

Art Now is the largest fine art fair of modern and contemporary art in Saskatchewan featuring emerging and nationally and internationally known artists from galleries across all three Canadian prairie provinces.

The fourth annual Art Now takes place September 19–22 in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada.

Don’t miss the Opening Night Reception for the 4th annual Art Now Fine Art Fair. At 7:00pm on Thursday, September 19, at the Soundstage, in Regina, you can be one of the first to see the amazing fine art. Tickets for this premiere event are $45, $25 for self-declared artists, and are available online.

Jenni from Jenni Haikonen Studio will be teaching us how to make beautiful greeting cards to send to your loved ones. Participants in this beginner workshop will learn how to prepare a watercolour piece for painting, how to set up a design, and how to mix and apply colour. 

All participants will be provided with a brand new watercolour set and brushes to take home. All other supplies in the workshop will be provided for use and no experience is necessary.

Learn to make stunning botanical pieces with simple techniques. Subtle, beautiful watercolour is incredibly beginner-friendly with a bit of guidance. Participants will learn how to prepare a watercolour piece for painting, how to set up a design, and how to apply colour. We will also cover mixing new shades of colour. All will take home a brand new watercolour set and brushes to continue exploring this medium.
